iRO 21.12.2012 server merge

#1 Post by tqian »

Moderatorial: this is a discussion of development of new update. Do not ask when update would be available, where to download it etc. Development-related discussion only. All working and tested updates eventually would be available as usual.

Hi all,

Does anyone know the new ip address and other information about the new iRO Chaos server?
I would like to replace the following information with that:

[International - iRO: Ymir/Yggdrasil/Valkyrie]
ip 128.241.92.162
port 6900
master_version 1
version 18
serverType iRO
serverEncoding Western
patchserver ropatch1.gravityus.com
patchpath /patch02
addTableFolders iRO
charBlockSize 116

Thanks a lot!

Do you also experience having no character at all?

Do we really need to update the server.txt?

Please help us.

Thanks,

Thanks,
Was asked to choose a new server, picked Chaos, saw no characters. You are not alone.

The server IP is unchanged, the server index you'd use the unified Chaos renewal server would be index 0

(i.e. server 0 inside your config)

I'm unsure if any other changes happened that affect servers.txt, such as the charBlockSize or the like...

every time I try to login It would say there is no character in your account.
Even after I click # <- it will mention invalid key. Help?
Maybe the problem is on the Server itself. I have read that there's too many bugs and errors reported in their community.

And If I'm not mistaken, they want to re-merge the server again coz' the first merging process had failed.

We need to wait for at least until next week or else, there will be some changes needed to apply to the program for us to really use the benefits of openkore in iRO.

:ugeek:

i am also experiencing this problem, and the most likely cause is the charblock issue. please look into this matter! thanks

i also have tried using charblocksize listed on wiki, but none of them worked.
maybe someone have other list so we can try those manually

Eh not entirely certain where I'm supposed to be measuring charblocksize from to, but from the first character of one of my characters names to the first character of the next is exactly 144 bytes which coincides with the largest supported block size, however this does not seem to work with it. I dabbled with generating a new recvpackets.txt but extractor.exe just dies when I run it so permaybehaps it's packed? No idea, doesn't seem to be packed but I've not done reverse engineering of ragnarok online before. Hell I haven't done any serious reverse engineering in 10 years but maybe someone here knows better? Also that patch you guys are trying for auto block size is waaaaay out of date and theres no way to apply it cleanly at all.
http://forums.openkore.com/viewtopic.php?t=9806 Looks like it might apply semi cleanly but the patch is for kRO Sakray so not much use to us and I don't think porting it would fix our issue here.

Unfortunately I'm way over my head here as I know nothing of the codebase and I hate perl with a passion. Jumping into the middle of a project like openkore isn't exactly easy and I'm too busy drinking/waiting for the world to end to figure it out atm. Repatching my ragnarok online right now due to an accident with ragexe while trying to do the extractor I'll sniff some more and maybe find something a bit more useful to help when it finishes.
