#1 Post by kaitoshion069 »

can I ask you guys?

I use openkore but here what it said:

Connecting to Character Select Server...
Connecting (128.241.92.130:4500)... connected
Timeout on Character Select Server, reconnecting...

I waited it for a halfday but nothings happen, how/what should I do?

For iRO server you need to update you openkore weekly, especially after maintenance.
But before updating, make sure to wait Pull Request (PR) for the update to be merged into master version.

Don't need to open issue.
Just follow the PR in the future; I mean the new related PR.
There's many PR there. Some people confused with old PR.

There are many ways to update your openkore.

The most easiest one is to just re-download everything again from github-master branch.
The semi-easy way is to copy the committed files in PR to your openkore (copy-paste the related files text & using notepad, notapad++ or wordpad).

To update automatically any new files is either using Tortoise SVN(GIT) or Github Desktop (Search it on google as I don't using git desktop, quite easy if you are a geek)
As for me, I update using Tortoise SVN (can also use Tortoise GIT)

For Tortoise SVN, you can follow this link.
http://wiki.openkore.com/index.php/TortoiseSVN_Guide

The only thing you need to change is the URL.
Use github URL instead (https://github.com/OpenKore/openkore)
This will download everything from the master branch.
Next time you need to update, just right-click on any files (or folder) & click `check for updates`.

Using Tortoise SVN is much more simple and easy for me (compared to Git Desktop).
Just need 2 clicks and doesn't required to open any other program.

Well, there is no magical way or shortcut in learning.
All you have to do first is getting familiar with github, git desktop or tortoise SVN.
Then play around with it but remember to make a backup before testing anything.
