[Sniper] 170 dex possibility / damage difference to 160 dex

Does anyone know if this is possible?

Bear in mind:
  • no orlean gloves, they are too hard to obtain
  • Can a sniper with 25 base int along with job and true sight bonus continuously maintain true sight buff which is necessary to give extra 5 dex?
So I can theoretically achieve 170 dex with 99 base:
  • 2x nimble gloves - 8 * 2 = 16
  • thights - 1
  • rocker card 1
  • ramen hat - 4
  • binocular - 1
  • job bonus - 14
  • owl's eyes - 10
  • true sight - 5
  • attention concentrate - 14
  • ablest - 2
There are many questions that is raised on that build:
  1. Is it possible to get a ramen hat?
  2. Would the damage be higher or lower if:
  3. [list=a]
  4. I lower my dex to 160 by taking out a nimble glove to replace it with a sign or use a slotted bow thimble?
  5. AND/OR
  6. Use a 4 slotted comp bow instead with different mix of cards
  7. AND/OR
  8. Does the effect of using elemental arrow or elemental converters matter (ie: damage might be lower if using normal arrow at 160 dex with 4 slotted comp bow but higher if using elemental arrow or the use of converters)

My view is that 160 dex will far achieve better damage only with a combination of two or more factors listed above, particularly the elemental difference along with extra buffs such as deluge with water arrows.

I have yet to do the calculations but I will get to it after tomorrow's exam. It's a drag you know. =/

i calculated the stats given above using http://rode.doddlercon.com/db/calc/index.php ..a sniper can only reach 170 dex with lvl 10 blessing or +10 dex food..

base dex = 99
job bonus = 14
ramen hat =4
binoculars=1
tights [rocker card] = 2
nimble glove [2 pcs] = 8
owls eye = 10
true sight = 5
arbalest = 2
improve concentration (considering all above is equip and in use) = 15
total = 160
with level 10 blessing or Dex Food +10 = 170
with level 10 blessing and Dex Food +10 = 180

damage based on Lord Knight Seyren (MVP) (closest to VIT Lord Knight, demi human, medium, except for element)

with +10 [2*racial] Arbalest+Crystal arrow+ 2 nimble glove+with buff=

No Deluge [Level 5]
Minimum Damage 1712(856X2hit)
Average Damage 1892(946X2hit)
Maximum Damage 2072(1036X2hit)
Damage Per Second 4978.95

With Deluge [Level 5]
Minimum Damage 2054(1027X2hit)

based on this things and conditions above, 1 nimble bow thimble+sign accessory gives more DPS..sorry if i can't post the calculations for +10[4] Composite bow..too tired..

Orlean's gloves give 2 dex + 3 = 5 dex ea, 10 dex total

heh kill 3333 bow guardian for me please =P and find a way to survive at thor 3 against salamanders(can be done you know, just getting to the lockmap position spot is the problem.)

oh yeah, no ramen hat. So gotta use dex food to compensate. I will do more research on this soon.

NP..yup its really hard to get orleans glove[1]..if you have a biochemist..it will be a very big help to hunt..

Well first don't kick me if I say something senseless (which I am most of the time),
But if you want to MVP with a Sniper get vivi's Gypsy to MC you. I am not sure but I think 50% of the stats are given..that would pump good amount of dex.

Marionette Control does not give you DEX more than the maximum base DEX allowed.

That's why it's useless for Pure Forgers (99 DEX).

have u tried using other bow?

like 160 dex gakkung
&
160 dex arba

i know they have a different damage...
i personally use gakk for high def monster / target its more pwerful than arba
but arba gives +2 hmmm

if i have 160 dex, id rather go for comp bow. I think that gives the most damage if I use elemental arrows. Ablest is useful only for the dex, that's all.
