you dint get my sarcasm do you? 100 bots? what are you? greediest person on earth? 10 bots is already damned well pushing it. Honestly I dont condone it either. It's just processing power and ram that you need and my suggestion wasent all bullshit either. It's to discourage you. Why dont you ask the specs of the PC from the guy that runs 100 bot on it. The act of managing 100 bots is bloody easy. Oh and if your server needs posiedon, haha forget about it.

And again, it's just processing power and ram issues. If youre that greedy, get sli's server suggestion. Can it run windows btw sli?

Gentoo is an linux OS which can be fully compiled from the source. Because of this user can gain a little bit of perfomance.

I believe the performance you gain from compiling Gentoo from stage 2, maybe even 1, would be insignificant. Spending the time compiling from stage 1 would just take too long anyway.

I, however, spent 20 hours? to compile Gentoo from stage 1 (xen + 64 bit + experimental drivers and such). I think the only reason why people even use Gentoo anymore is because it has Portage, or at least thats why I still use it.

I think gentoo users use it primary for perfomance increasing. FreeBSD ports much better than portage

Wow, you actually believe that, don't you? No, it's ok. I'll let you think the simple act of compiling software yourself somehow affects performance.

i does increase if you compile it properly with the correct flags... even more than you compile everything for 64 bits (on a x64 cpu) instead of 32 bit
