Will Kore soon be dead if Legacy's Antibot gets popular?

#1 Post by Knatter »

Hello

I've been playing RO for some years now and quite a bit of the fun came by bots running aside. My current server is LegacyRO, where bots don't work any more since 2 weeks or so. You can have a look at the problem in the developers corner. There's not been any real step forward until now, in fact the thread seems to become dead. I'm not into the programming stuff so I don't have any background regarding the Anti-Bot mechanism of LegacyRO, which is based on encrypted packets. What I ask myself is:

-Why hasn't this Anti-Bot spread on others servers yet?
-Will there ever be way around it, assuming the Admin can modify the encryption easily and frequent?

lol no... encryption made by amateurs wont last very long. This however shows once again how so many people who USE openkore don't even bother trying to help

Actually, the encryption was made by professionals. But that's exactly the problem: it's a popular encryption algorithm.

If it becomes popular.. it will be cracked sooner or later.

i really wish this weren't true... ive taken a break from botting for a while, from RO for that matter... i would stay in it more if more people would post shit on the forums... it is not like it used to be. maybe RO is on its way out.... its been the same game for years now [/rant]

Last time I checked, RO was still bigger than WoW.

There is no perfect protection, best way is modifying encryption as soon as they catching a bot.

Bibian is correct , so far so good those server that can not be bot are those GM that is greedy .

those GM greedy to share there anti-bot system ,
By the Way , if they share there anti-bot system .
It will be easy to encounter it .

So far So Good only less then 1% of server can not be bot . Other 99% are bot supported
