15:20	Bibian:	kLabMouse, drupal can go screw itself... im not using that
15:20	Bibian:	its too buggy on php 5.3
15:20	kLabMouse:	Bibain: O_o. What happened?
15:21	Bibian:	i tried to install it last night
15:21	kLabMouse:	and?
15:21	Bibian:	it just kept throwing errors
15:21	Bibian:	and i said 'fuck it'
15:21	kLabMouse:	O_o.
15:21	Bibian:	we'll just use wiki + forums + bugtracker + simple frontpage
15:21	kLabMouse:	can you give me admin right's. So I'll do that alone?
15:21	Bibian:	it wont work
15:22	Bibian:	drupal 6.x uses too many depricated functions
15:22	kLabMouse:	I use:
15:22	Bibian:	and functions that nolonger work as they did in 5.2
15:22	kLabMouse:	PHP 5.2.10-0.dotdeb.1 with Suhosin-Patch 0.9.7 (cli) (built: Jun 24 2009 09:20:5 6) Copyright (c) 1997-2009 The PHP Group Zend Engine v2.2.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2009 Zend Technologies with XCache v2.0.0-dev, Copyright (c) 2005-2007, by mOo with Suhosin v0.9.27, Copyright (c) 2007, by SektionEins GmbH
15:22	Bibian:	yea and i use 5.3.0
15:22	Bibian:	but
15:22	Bibian:	i did get dynamic hosting to work for the openkore uses
15:22	Bibian:	user*
15:22	kLabMouse:	downgrade then.
15:22	Bibian:	uh no
15:23	kLabMouse:	why?
15:23	Bibian:	5.3 has native mysql drivers, a LOT faster than 5.2's
15:23	Bibian:	and 50934850934 fixes
15:23	kLabMouse:	I know... But 5.2 is incompatible with older one.
15:23	Bibian:	too bad
15:23	kLabMouse:	5.3*
15:24	Bibian:	i spent hours getting 5.3 to work, not gonna go throw that away for drupal
15:24	kLabMouse:	And it's 6m that we don't have anything for front page!
15:25	Bibian:	6m?
15:25	kLabMouse:	I can Rewrite some of Drupal Internals a little bit.. to get it work on 5.3
15:25	Bibian:	let someone whip up a simple frontpage that links to the wiki
15:25	Bibian:	dont bother
15:25	kLabMouse:	may-be more.
15:25	Bibian:	that will make updating hell
15:26	Bibian:	mediawiki is up and running
15:26	kLabMouse:	:/
15:26	Bibian:	i made it so that if you goto bla.openkore.com (doesnt work now) it reads from /public_html/bla
15:26	Bibian:	and test.openkore.com uses /public_html/test
15:27	kLabMouse:	may-be: /users/test/public_html/ ???
15:27	kLabMouse:	the way as cPanel work.
15:27	Bibian:	i dont have cpanel, so no
15:28	kLabMouse:	I don't use it too.
15:28	kLabMouse:	I use SysCP.
15:28	Bibian:	i use webmin :P
15:28	kLabMouse:	I know.
15:28	Bibian:	test.openkore.com now runs the wiki btw
15:29	Bibian:	i added reCaptcha to it
15:29	kLabMouse:	:/
15:29	kLabMouse:	reCaptcha is bad.
15:29	Bibian:	how is it bad
15:29	kLabMouse:	some bot's can bypass it.
15:30	Bibian:	i havent seen a single on thats able to bypass it
15:30	Bibian:	i can use diff ones in the blink of an eye
15:30	kLabMouse:	I've seen alot.
15:30	Bibian:	like an image with a math problem
15:30	kLabMouse:	=)
15:31	kLabMouse:	Hmm... May-be use Drupal 7 ?
15:31	kLabMouse:	it's PHP 5.3 Compatible.
15:31	Bibian:	its still development
15:31	kLabMouse:	yep.
15:32	Bibian:	it'll be updated too much to keep up
15:32	Bibian:	and stuff might be missing / broken
15:32	kLabMouse:	http://drupal.org/node/360605
15:33	Bibian:	374 critical bugs lol
15:33	kLabMouse:	yep :/
15:33	Bibian:	like i said, im not using some random patch cause it'll make it hell to upgrade drupal
15:34	kLabMouse:	you will update it?
15:34	Bibian:	it'll be hell to update
15:34	kLabMouse:	I think that installing PHP 5.3 is a big mistake.
15:34	Bibian:	nope
15:35	Bibian:	its stable
15:34	Bibian:	faster
15:35	Bibian:	a lot better with mysql
15:35	kLabMouse:	Anyway. If you are willing to mke frontpage by your own. do it.
15:35	Bibian:	well all i have to transfer now is the bug tracker
15:35	Bibian:	and then the authoritive nameserver for a few other domains :S
15:36	kLabMouse:	donno. on "test3" there was a lot of features. all Integrated, and so on.
15:36	Bibian:	i doubt drupal has a nameserver :P
15:36	kLabMouse:	but... the big problem... it need alot of hadwriting to keep it on PHP 5.3
15:37	Bibian:	the wiki and forum work great on 5.3
15:37	kLabMouse:	donno. I let our teem to decide.

OK. Now We have Problem.
1) We don't have normal front page for openkore.com
2) Bibian's new server is Incompatible with Drupal (test3.joker-net.eu) that was planned to be the frontpage

So. Yo Decide. Whatever to keep Bibian's design (see in conversation), or the "test3" (which need PHP to be downgraded to 5.2).

yo have time Until 15 Sep 2009.

Why not host Drupal on a different server? If it can't stay on joker-net.eu I could do it. (using: PHP 5.2.9-pl2-gentoo)

Afaik it's possible to have different php versions working on one webserver.
Note: http://www.eukhost.com/forums/f15/how-s ... sion-6202/

Bibian: just install another version and manage it per .htaccess

At the moment there will be no way to get kLabs site to work on bibians server. (as it seams)
So there's are only two options: changing the cms or changing the server.

greetings,

Scarya

P.S.: I could host things too (located in Europe, Germany, 100mbit)

I will gladly donate my VPS for use. Granted there are a few minor requirements which are reasonable which are basically not to use too much of BW, keep it to as few hands as possible and occasionally help me set up stuff on the server =P

Openkore site requirements will take technological precedent (php version, etc)
