HELPeR, interactive help bot.

#1 Post by sli »

Just wanted to let everyone in on a bot I've been working on. It's just about done, but noooot quite. All that's left to be done is logging (in case some punk tries to SQL inject) and to fill the database with at least all the config variables.
(09:49:53am) (sli) find 10*
(09:49:53am) (HELPeR) Topics found: 10060, 10061
(09:50:26am) (sli) explain 10060
(09:50:26am) (HELPeR) Topic: 10060
(09:50:26am) (HELPeR) Error #10060 is simply the Winsock error code for a connection timeout (WSATIMEOUT). This usually means you have an incorrect port number, but it could potentially mean any number of problems with your server configuration.
(09:50:39am) (sli) explain master
(09:50:39am) (HELPeR) Topic: master
(09:50:39am) (HELPeR) This config variable contains the name of the server to which you wish to connect. Normally this name is detected automatically on first run from a displayed setup menu. The value of this variable corresponds to a block of the same name in tables\servers.txt.

Well, there was this unfinished chatbot isieo made that culled pages pages from the wiki. Not sure where it is anymore.
Got your topic trashed by a mod?

Trashing topics is one click, and moving a topic to its proper forum is a lot harder. You expend the least effort in deciding where to post, mods expend the least effort by trashing.

Have a nice day.

It would be great with an auto-completion system (require a GUI) :)

Read my post again before you comment. You cannot have this software. It is proprietary.

Read my post again before you comment. I give you just a suggestion.

I don't want and I don't need your program...
You become paranoid.

I think you missed the whole part about how it's fucking IRC based. Why would I write a whole big GUI for a piece of software that everyone's going to ignore, anyway? I'm not going to actually run this bot in IRC because the noobs won't use it (they prefer to waste our time). I'm just using the OpenKore manual as a framework for testing.
