With the increasing amount of spammers i'd like to ask you, the users, to report and post that spams a certain website, product, etc so we can take care of this...
These spammers are most likely all manual registrations, so bot protection doesn't help and they are all from China or Taiwan (95% of them).
So please report any post that fits the "spam" criterium, to report a post click on the Triangle like this one:
The top one is when you do not hover over it, the bottom one is when you hover over the image.

Re: Increasing amount of spammers
So you're outsourcing the work to the community instead of installing better spam protection and being done with it? Too bad SF.net doesn't allow Akismet.

Re: Increasing amount of spammers
I wish people would actually read my posts.
Although, it MIGHT work if the forums are installed in the persistent directory, or somewhere with similar permissions, but last I checked you can't open sockets on SF.net's web hosting servers.sli wrote:Too bad SF.net doesn't allow Akismet.

Re: Increasing amount of spammers
This forum isn't hosted on SF.net ... maybe that's why your post is being ignored?
Got your topic trashed by a mod?
Trashing topics is one click, and moving a topic to its proper forum is a lot harder. You expend the least effort in deciding where to post, mods expend the least effort by trashing.
Have a nice day.

Re: Increasing amount of spammers
Er, don't you commit forum code to the SVN? Or was it moved recently?

Re: Increasing amount of spammers
i commit it after updating it locally on my pc, then update it on the server that hosts the forums...
