What kind of error is this

#1 Post by RObotic »

I attached a screenshot, I don't know where I did go wrong, any server infos should be fine, the only thing I am unsure about is the recvpackets.txt since the extractor gave me some kind of error, but still created the file.

lmao......that totally set me up - I basically checked everything for the error, but I never considered rechecking that typo. Thanks a lot even though I now got unknown packet switches im one step farther

I could not extract it with the provided tools, Ro Tools extracted the recvpackets.txt but also gave me an error :
Sorry I cant find the offset of the packet length function.
The executable file might be compressed/protected.

I am fairly sure about the server version.

The website is http://www.Veteranro.com

http://veteranro.com/vetrolite.zip Patcher

Server.txt

[Mystic-Ro]
ip 75.103.118.215
port 6900
master_version 14
version 20
serverType kRO_RagexeRE_2010_08_03a
serverEncoding Western
addTableFolders kRO

and also tried this one

[Mystic-Ro]
ip 75.103.118.215
port 6900
master_version 14
version 20
serverType kRO_RagexeRE_2010_08_03a
serverEncoding Western
addTableFolders translated\kRO_english;kRO

about extracting the tables, in the guide section it tells me I got to convert the files in UTF-8 without BOM(whatever that means)
They all appear to be utf8 in the first place so not much converting to be done, but what is that bom and if there is a bom in there how do I remove it, also it has several files of the same type, what to do with the leftovers.

Try v3 by kLab.
Download PEID! and look if .exe have any protection.
(OBS : If "Yes" and protection's name is "ASProtect", unpack file with Stripper)

But, i recommend v3.

Other thing, Try this serverType :
kRO_RagexeRE_2010_11_24a
But before, do this :
Download openkore_ready : http://openkore.collectskin.com/
Or just your src folder.
addTableFolders translated\kRO_english;kRO
Extract all archives of your server with this guide :

http://openkore.com/index.php/Category:Tables

Extract and create a folder to this server.
When you finish, Create an archive called : monsters.txt and npcs.txt (Auto-generated files)

Ready !

You send me a pm with .exe.
I used V3 and works normally.

Tip :
1)Put the .exe on same folder of v3.
2)Now, put v3 folder in desktop
3)Do this : Start > Run > cmd
4)Now, you will digit :

cd desktop\v3 (V3 Folder's name)

5)And last, digit : perl packet_extract.pl Blabla.exe
6)When some new posts appears, digit :

extractor.exe > recvpackets.txt
And with these infos, you can extract.

When I read that I had it figured out the hard way, 4hours of trial/error +gooling for perl guides... anyways I got the extractor.exe but as soon I try running it in any setting it just crashes. I uploaded it into the mediafire folder: http://www.mediafire.com/?ig2w1rqqscbs9

also about the extraction of the tables, they all seem to be in utf-8 (theyre inside that folder as well) the wiki mentions BOM though, and I have no clue how to figure out if they're with/without it.

D:\Games\Ragnarok\test\v3>extractor.exe > recvpackets.txt

D:\Games\Ragnarok\test\v3>extractor

D:\Games\Ragnarok\test\v3>perl extractor.exe > recvpackets.txt
Unrecognized character \x80; marked by <-- HERE after MZ<-- HERE near column 3 a
t extractor.exe line 1.

D:\Games\Ragnarok\test\v3>

in the first case the exe just crashes without giving any output
