Since this discussion isn't allowed on irowiki or official forums, I figured I'd post it here.
Does anyone know of a way to block the spam bots on Valk server effectively? Someone on irowiki posted its possible by editing the client, but I'm not so sure how to do that/which file to look for.

Doesn't RCX filter them fairly well?
I have been really lazy but I coded something that still works against all the current spam bots and has worked for almost two years now. I may be motivated to work on it now, who knows. It pretty much just needs a clean loader because right now it overwrites cps.dll which is a bad way to distribute in my opinion.

For some reason RCX doesn't block all the bots even though I have updated the filter list, plus when you walk in screen of 3+ spam bots they will still lag you out for a minute before RCX could block them.

It should be kosher for me to post that link because the source is up for it and I coded it myself.
You just drop it in your ragnarok folder, overwrite stuff, make sure you have admin set in vista/win7, and then drop nospam.dll + nospam.cfg in to the modules folder.

There is some problem when running RO client through socks proxy program though but guess I have to accept it.

The client just freezes when I try to login. I can provide you with a lowerping.com account to test it if you want.
