Perhaps a more aggressive form of captcha should be used? It's ironic to utilize manual labor when we are a tech based community to solve spam issues. 2 weeks of unapproved post is neither a good thing either.

I am going to do what I can and start a bounty system in a 3 days if there are no objections. It is just a pilot project to see if it can inject some fresh development.

Depends how willing the community is willing to pay. A refine plugin (that supports all the new features) is one that I think which is going to be quite popular.

Yes, source code must be open sourced. I guess the only way to ensure that is us acting as escrow.
