OpenKore 2.1

#1 Post by kali »

Hello everyone,

We are very pleased to announce that OpenKore 2.1 is almost feature-complete and nearly ready for release.

Beta 2.0.7 is released!
A beta version (2.0.7) has been released to completely iron out the bugs before 2.1

Please note that 2.1 will be considered a STABLE release. Some old-timers may remember that the odd-numbered point updates are beta, while even-numbered point updates are stable. However, as of the 2.0 branch, the versioning scheme has changed. As kLabMouse mentioned:
<kLabMouse> all betas are N.N.x.p where "p" is patch. "x" is beta version. and all "N" are stable.
We encourage everyone to try and test out the beta version (2.0.7) and file reports before the stable 2.1 gets released. If your server is not supported, post in the appropriate sub forum. If your server is supported, but with special settings in servers.txt, file a report at the bug tracker.
The faster you report, the faster you will benefit.

START EDIT: Technology

The OpenKore team would like to thank everyone that contributed to this release,
more in particular our Project Leader kLabMouse, Developers, Testers, and everyone who has made a difference for OpenKore!

SVN AutoUpdater tool
This feature will keep your openkore copy up to date.
How to use it?
For use on windows you can download the latest svn command-line tools here: Setup-Subversion-1.6.2
For use on other OS (check if its not already installed first) you can look here for your svn CLI (command line interface) tools.
Once you have the SVN (subversion) CLI commands you can either run:
- autoupdate.pl (if you have a perl interpreter installed)
- start-autoupdate.exe (if you have start.exe)
- start-wx_autoupdate.exe (if you have start_wx.exe)

How it works
The SVN AutoUpdater tool checks for the repositories: openkore, fields, tables if their global rev (last changed rev of repo in svn) is greater than their local rev (the rev we have on our pc).
If this is the case, that means that the global repo (in svn) has changed since we last updated our local repo.
So the script will use the 'svn update --force --accept theirs-conflict' command for that repo.
(note: you can see a repository as a file tree)

Fixes in 2.0.7 so far
- Removing stupid message test2 in recognizing actor.
- mRO support: ST0 to ST22
- h4rry84: it's Checking !!! not Chenking ! (typo fixed)

(you can get these small fixes with the SVN AutoUpdater tool.)
Keep on reporting: bugs, errors in servers.txt, ... please.

They will, if no start.exe found.
the startwx will first call Wx Interface. The simple one will use start.exe first.
