Who would YOU vote for to be project manager?
This is unofficial, and does not affect the outcome, but I'm curious! If you'd like to see statements from the nominees, they are available here.

Re: Who would YOU vote for to be project manager?
Warning:
This is not a representative poll if this were a vote for the project manager.
The community is allowed to vote here.
Not many of them have ever collaborated in an opensource project.
So little do they know about who will be the best project manager.
Therefor this poll can only reflect who they want their community leader to be.
Just my 4 kilobytes.

One ST0 to rule them all? One PE viewer to find them!
One ST_kRO to bring them all and in the darkness bind them...

You're just upset that nobody nominated you.

Ehm, and who nominated you again?sli wrote:You're just upset that nobody nominated you.
Oh right, you did!
Now seriously, i don't want a nomination.
For 2 reasons: I have no time & kLabMouse is the best candidate.
At least he's one of the people who still believe in Openkore.
For those who did not get my previous post i will now explain it in other words:
- community votes for community leader (leads the community: head of forum & irc moderators)
- project members (aka devs) vote for project leader (leads the devs: head of devs & other leaders)
Letting the community vote the project leader makes absolutely no sense.
When it comes down to it in opensource, everything starts with development, the rest follows.
So imo, a project leader other than the lead developer is redundant in an opensource project.

Yes, this open-source project started out years ago. It may have started out with a major development focus only, but in order to keep the project continually going in a sustainable manner, other non-development related things need to happen as well and that's where this person comes in and overall picture intact. Sometimes tasks need to be split up and structured to get things done more efficiently and it's usually better to actually have someone designated with that responsibility than hoping that someone or something will happen. Otherwise, there wouldn't be much reason for this now would there? (sorry, have to keep this brief)Technology wrote:When it comes down to it in opensource, everything starts with development, the rest follows.

Edit: Oh, and btw, I'm the one who's keeping track of the official tallies. This poll is just unofficial.
