I'm using openkore for quite long time and as the time goes, everybody can notice i guess, there are less and less servers that you can use openkore on them.
The thing is.. its not just because servers started to use harmony and other protections , (i mean its half of the problem) , its because even when you get the right info of the server..you dont have the right serverType to use..
so back to my question and i hope someone could answer it , why openkore doesn't keep updating its kRO thing..i mean when you're opening this http://www.openkore.com/index.php/ServerType - you can see "(unfinished, Patches Welcome)".
P.S If there is anything you can use in a replace of that servertype i would love to hear about.

Re: Major Problem In 2013..
It's Easy to Answer.
Long time ago, there was single ST 8 made for all the PServer.
But as time fly, each and every PServer developer, and Emulator developers (specially eAthena forks) have made their own versions and client support. Thus resulting in non universal list of packets.
That's Why kRO ST was created.
In the time it was created, we had a real developer who where playing on kRO. And other supporters who reported and checked each build and intermediate patches.
But that time also passed. And in current time, there is no Real maintainer and developer for that part on OpenKore networking subsystem.
That's why every developer who play on PServer try their hard to at least somehow make kRo ST tree a bit more updated.
But it's also a task of trial and error, because that part was long abandoned, and needs to fill and support each type of packet that was used in some period.

what you are telling me is that openkore is kind useless those days, since nobody is actually updating it?
and if it is useless now , why keeping openkore alive? it aint working on any of the new servers anyways..

No, it works fine on many servers. Official ones, for example.Wonderman wrote:what you are telling me is that openkore is kind useless those days
No, somebody actually updates it. There's just nobody who obsessed with perpetual support of each and every server right now.Wonderman wrote:since nobody is actually updating it?
It never worked on any "new servers" unless somebody interested in them did the work. It's up to those who are interested in "new servers" to contribute this fraction to otherwise already existing bot. There's capable framework for that, it's not like you have to write the whole bot from scratch to "support a new server".Wonderman wrote:it aint working on any of the new servers anyways..
Not in 2013, it was already coming long ago. And the following text is on our "About" page for 7 years already.Wonderman wrote:Major Problem In 2013

Unless these things are dealt with, the community will go down hill, and in the near future nobody will be able to bot anymore! This is no joke, nor am I trying to scare you: I'm just being realistic.
