A little reality check on general botting scene in Valkyrie

#1 Post by blunderbore »

I just joined the Valkyrie server and first glance at the novice training grounds was enuf to tell me that people botting their characters is a normal thing here..
But I am not exactly sure how much care is taken by the GMs to avoid this or how often do they ban characters.

Are the IPs traced real seriously?
If I bot my other characters on my own internet connection, may my main characters suffer if the connection is traced? Are they really hell-bent on banning every little thing that runs on its own...
Please fill in your experiences and help me out. I wanna survey the whole thing before jumping into it.

Thanks,
BlunderBore :-)

I believe they ban all the accounts that your ip has logged onto.

Well, from my personal experience. In Chaos, on of my account got banned for botting, but that same night I botted two accounts. If they really did trace IP Address, both would have been banned together.

I just started botting that server a few days ago, and have had really good luck with it. There's like a ton of bots, so as long as you put a little work in to yours people will probably be paying more attention to the mobs of them sitting at spawn points and the ones that spam zeny adds.

I should mention though... the other night someone or a GM or something spawned a bunch of mvps on the map right of Comodo. I think it was a GM because there was a BUNCH of them. Like, four baphos (two at each portal) and a bunch of other stuff. I'm sure it was just like six or seven actual mvps, but their mobs made it seem like sooo much more. They had some of them in the narrow passageways you have to walk through to get anywhere on the map, too.

I suggest playing the map you're gonna bot for a few minutes before you start running the bot, just to make sure it's safe enough. Though at this point, I'm a lot more concerned with bot hunters DBing the maps I level on then getting banned.

The only bots I get banned on there are the ones I leave in bylaan dungeon. The mvps are from bloody branches not GMs. If they actually banned according to IP i would be screwed.

There is a blacksmith who does this with bloody branches and dead branches. he hate's bots and always does this near maps that have high botting activity. it's actually quite funny to watch when you're on the account yourself and not botting.

There is no such thing called BOT-HATING anymore. I used to be one too, when I was new to the game and wanted everyone to play fare and all.. But when one starts it, you do it not to be cool like them... but for the sake of being in competition...
That BS guy, I guess, has all his bots running in other maps, higher or lower... that's why he spams DBs on the maps where his bots aren't active...

Valk is botted so much that most players have become complacent about reporting bots. Hell, someone has an acolyte that automatically warps you depending on how much you deal it. It's actually quite nice. Players talk about how he's a bot, but as far as I know, he's been there at least a week, if not more. You'll see some DB common maps, but that's easy to get around. Don't bot common maps. The DBing should die down here after they remove the Christmas event since that's what flooded the market with branches to begin with.
