I think his problem is in using the wrong server type... 8_4 hasn't been used since 2008, and the client window clearly says 2010.
Wouldn't something like kRO_RagexeRE_2010_11_24a make more sense?

And I'm also not sure about his recvpackets, which is named "mero". Unless he's got a thing for misnaming things. Dunno.
