I have been playing with xkore 2. I am finding it very interesting accually now i can connect on a local machine and on a machine though the network all works great.
Now i have been trying to set it up so i could say run a bot on my machine and have a mate connect though the bot from his house. He logs in works great. He can select the server, however after that it just says failed to connect to server.
Anyone got any experience with any of this?
i also have the port open for xkore and i know it is successful because he can login with a userid and password that i set

Re: Xkore 2 from different machines
Similar setup to what I sometimes use here (windows for the gui clients with a batch file to run the proper .xml file for the account, ubuntu hosting openkore).
It should, by the way, work the same as a local machine hosting both the openkore running xkore 2, and the gui client connecting to it.
Unrelated to any connection issues, be aware that using xkore mode 2, your inventory you see via xkore may not synch with the inventory you can see in the openkore console (via "i", "cart", or "storage"). It will be synched every time you mapload to another map in the game, but doesn't seem to match when you craft items, or sell items off to an npc. Just a heads-up on that!
Using a separate machine for both programs, you have a few potential networking complications to tend to:
If that doesn't help solve out the issue, report the version number, and what you've found checked out. Remember that firewall/antivirus issues might take a bit of google-fu and reading and poking to resolve. I've had to disable/modify my iptables based firewall on ubuntu MORE than a few times to sort out issues for xkore 2, and other inter-OS networking issues too.
Good luck!

- make sure that the IP addresses are not changing (dynamically assigned) on the machine hosting openkore, since then your .xml file you use to connect will possibly have the wrong IP.
- make sure whatever firewall and/or antivirus software you're using on BOTH machines aren't blocking access to the port xkore uses, nor the IPs of the other machines.

Re: Xkore 2 from different machines
I am using the latest from the download. I can get the machine over the internet to connect to the xkore 2 and it logs in just fine but it cant connect to the char server. So i have the ip set up correctly otherwise typing in the username and password would say cant connect. The server selection comes up just fine. It is a little fustrating but i may try to use hamachi and start building out.
