Poseidon - attempt to call a nil value

#1 Post by Bunnikin »

Ok so after trying to get poseidon to work for several hours now, I throw in the towel and request for some assistance.

So I run my start-poseidon.exe file, works great at this point, I get the whole:
>>> Poseidon 2.1 initialized <<<

I get a looping tiny pop-up window with the error: "attempt to call a nil value"
The first two windows are titled "ResetTheHotkey" and the subsequent ones are titled "queryRegionInfo"

I exported my clientinfo.xml, saved as poseidon.xml
Modified the IP to localhost
Port is already set to the requested value by default: 6900

My export looks a little odd compared to most I've seen shown in the forum, I many lines of these admin tags per section:
<aid>
<admin>1650317</admin><admin>1650320</admin><admin>527214</admin><admin>527215</admin>
</aid>
<yellow>
<admin>1650317</admin><admin>1650320</admin><admin>527214</admin><admin>527215</admin>
</yellow>

I attempted to modify it to look similar to everyone elses' but that doesn't change my results at all.

Things I've done so far:
1. Using batch file paired with the old ragexe.
2. Using old ragexe without batch file (and using my poseidon.xml instead) in the shortcut I made for it on my desktop.
3. Complete reinstall of OpenKore from http://collectskin.com/openkore/ and TortoiseSVN several times.
4. Attempted several different values in my poseidon.xml (maybe I'm just not using the right ones still for this older file? I dont know.. I've read through all the documentation and I feel like I must be missing something important.

And just a note, when I use the "current" ragexe, the client does load, however it doesn't work obviously because it's not the old client which you've discussed.

Any advise / recommendations would be helpful, thank you.

[ENG]

Poseidon is only for servers that have Game Guard. iRO doesn't need it

[PT-BR]

O Poseidon é só para servidores que têm Game Guard. iRO não precisa disto

Why do you want to use Poseidon in IRO ?

you don't need poseidon for IRO...

Well... I suppose that simplifies things.. thanks for your response! *Feels silly*

As a first time botter, can anyone recommend any settings for well, to lessen my chances of getting suspended / banned?

Thank you.
