Dead Community?
I used to be a member back in 2005-2006, when Openkore had a fair size community of people who helped eachother and answered the questions of new comers. Now OpenKore is jsut a bunch of people asking questions not getting any answers and the forum is full of spam. Is the OpenKore community dead? Is there nobody left on here that actually has a community mentality? Is the forums just a place for a bunch of new botters coming and asking unanswered questions? Makes me sad, used to be a great community here now its nothing but ruin.

If you have free time to be able to help, will be of great value, even more so since you have experiences.
Personally, most of the questions asked by the members in the forum I have no patience to answer, because a simple search in the topics or questions answered on Wiki would be enough to find the answer. I do not like working with the laziness of others.
Much of the ongoing projects are non-kore (plugins or other paraphernalia that only some people will use).
People very important in the design as the EternalHarvest simply vanished. The kLabMouse, current leader of the project, this away, but still answers some messages.
But this is all normal. Ragnarok is no longer as it was 10 years ago, and it carries all the communities attached thereto, including, but not limited to, the BOT.
Sorry my English, it sucks - I'm using Google.

I agree with some points that Kepler said, 85% of the questions can be answered by a simple google search.
See that many questions are also vague arguments like sharpening a pencil without explaining what a pencil is, in short they want something chewed.
Unfortunately too, the doubts are more complicated the question of how to connect to the servers, which generally rely on other tools and also other knowledge.
Another thing also, there are plugins made most things are rarely that someone will use SVN've been looking at a few, but none of them opened my eyes to use, as I said there is still better support for communication issues between OK and RAG , the other points are easy to find. Despite being able to adjust the connection to the server that game, I still have many doubts regarding this point, I think 70% of players who come here also have this doubt.

Nowadays. Things got Complicated. Each and All newcomers what something, without giving something back.
There is Strong "Supporters", but most of them will never answer a question that was answered before.
On another side of card, there is Server Support. Unfortunately, there is only a few developers, that actually work on that part, but they also Require some feedback if the solution works or not. Most of the time, issues come up too late, and cannot be easily fixed after they are out of date.
Also. I see you noticed 10 pages of Bug reports, where 3 pages are only pinned issues.
99% of fixed bug's never got any reply of the one who reported it. And it's not easy to figure out whatever it's RLY fixed or not.
I know why EternalHarvest went to shadows. It's RLY easy to figure out.
All the time he was implementing things and fixing gugs he never got any reply if it's good or not work at all.

I do not understand exactly what to fix dozens of topics.kLabMouse wrote:Also. I see you noticed 10 pages of Bug reports, where 3 pages are only pinned issues.

It also has many "bugs" reported that do not are bugs.

Re: Dead Community?
this msg board is dead as a doornail. ive been asking the same question for 3 weeks on multiple sections of this msg board hoping for an answer of any kind and not getting it. i am new to using openkore (used to bot ragnarok about 6-7 years ago and the bot i used was far superior to this poorly coded piece of crap) and am not understanding why its not working fresh out of package. it lets me login just fine but wont find my characters. ive done forum searches, read through all of the guides, and even done google searches for info on other boards maybe, but have turned up NOTHING. theres simply no information on this bot at all (prob cuz so few people play ragnarok these days and theyre probably all old botters using this) and noone to talk to about it. ive since pretty much given up even trying to get this thing working after having downloaded it 15 times and rerun it hoping for a different result. im on the iRO Chaos server, which is an official server, so it should be readily programmed into the bot.
simply put. this bot sucks. if it doesnt even work fresh out of zip/rar, then its just not coded right. like i said. the old RO bots were much better with better interfaces and i never had these kinds of problems. the wxstart.exe is a def improvement from the normal start file, but its still pretty ghetto.
its just not fair cuz trying to come back into this game after 8 years is hard. everyone has billions of zeny and sells items for way too much money. the only way to possibly be able to get anything is to bot or buy z(i will never pay real life money for money in a game). i was hoping to make my gaming experience better by using this bot, but have found a dead program with a dead support structure behind it which basically leaves any new people trying to join, completely assed out

Well apparently people don't get paid for answering some newb questions that are already answered.

Just to remind you, there is a project of a new interface Wx that Ethernel had begun, but was abandoned in late 2011.

OpenKore is so bad it's the only BOT for Ragnarok (and probably the only BOT OpenSource a game played worldwide) that lasts more than 10 years, is not it?

Re: Dead Community?
iRO? Hmm. Simple. OpenKore is alive because of 3rd party developers contribute something back.
But because, none want to contribute back and support part of OpenKore dedicated to iRO, the result is simple. Not back Contributions -> No Support.
