Annoying Questions (But relevant, and unexpected)

#1 Post by Tywind »

Welll'p.

I don't know if they did a wave the other day or what. BUT I GOT LINKED BANNED. All six accounts, BANNED.
I accidenty slipped and left my bots running while I was at my friends house for 3 days straight (WOOPS)
Luckily I got my main-legit-only-funded-account unbanned with some compromising.

Obviously, I want to start botting again.

So I'm thinking I only got linked banned due to character contact (some bots under same warp portal account, some bots trading items to others, some bots mailing items to others. I know trading to others is a redflag in investigation, I only did that a few times before I knew about this.)

But in case it WAS IP related, can somone review the process of changing IP adress with me? I havent done that since I was packet hacking private servers (due to bans) I was very young and only remember something to do with proxys / internet explorer? (or so I think)

And I also wanted confirm: - by dropping items, letting a monster eat it - only to kill it and picking up the item by receiving character: DOES THIS ERASE ITEM ID? (Thus being un traceable.)

any feed back would be highly appreciated. As I'm sure you can tell.. this has been one hell of a week (my poor botties D:)

exactly that.

if you want to avoid getting linked ban, avoid TRADING and create seperate warp portal accounts.

I learned that the first time they banned my first account. I was able to tell they were monitoring my characters but I didn't think they were looking at my accounts for prolong periods of time to look for proof that some of my characters had relation to the bot account. I was dumb and fell for their trick. :x

All of my accounts are wiped. Hahaha. Guess i have to be careful next time. Anyway, does dropping the item helps when transferring the item to another char? So it wont be traced.

I suddenly got scared of this. I thought it was at Philippines' official RO server. But does this kind of thing also happen to pRO?

From my experience (both back in the closed beta and now in the current days) any time they ban a character, they send a command to the server that bans every account connected on that IP address. I have run bots on a friends computer and in the same party, same guild, same map even. They ban every connected from that IP at that time. I have a main that has all my valuables that I never bot anymore unless I'm sitting at the PC. It has never been banned (about 4x total now) even though every other character connected has. I have had the same IP and had them banned again, after a thorough investigation (They brought 2 of my characters into the ban map at once). The simple fact is they randomly investigate high level characters when they feel like it, and ban everything connected. This last time I had a character under the same email address/warp portal account, but not connected at the time. All 4 of my bots where banned, but this 1 account that was not connected is still active. Just don't bot from the same IP, or don't bot unattended.
