Recvpackets/Client problem

There is this server that uses the 2010-12-28 client, and I'm having a hard time figuring out what serverType to use.
Using kRO_RagexeRE_2010_11_24a gives packet problems, I used the requested recvpackets provided in this forum, and it doesn't work because it still gives packet errors. I tried using the 8_4 serverType, it seems that it somehow solved the recvpackets problem, but now, it can't detect any NPCs.
