How to update item and itemdescription?

i thinks this one is for updating revpackets, not for updating item.txt and itemdescription.txt...

I can't get the packet extractors to work as of the moment. Even when using it on an unpacked .exe.

use grf packet extractor, open your grf, then at the search find items,
youll see txt there, like item2dnumber, i dont really know, what i know is that one of them are item and itemdescription, just compare it with your items.txt and so on

you are talking about the valexe.exe? To extract the items list what you are going to need is a GRF tool editor, and open the data.grf, its nothing to do with valexe.exe or any exes so you are talkinga bout the recvpackets i guess.
