Possible upcoming problems with iRO

#1 Post by Leyana »

So I've just read that iRO is going full F2P and disabling the ability for free accounts to open mulitple clients. Now this hasn't happened yet and I've no idea how it will affect my bots so I thought I'd come to ask the experts. If opening multiple clients is disabled, does that also affect the ability to have multiple bots active from the same PC? If yes, are there any ways around this?

I did do some research and found two popular solutions on the web, both not really feasible:
1. Use VMWare which requires a powerful PC
2. Get more PCs which requires lots of money

There was one more and that was to create a seperate guest account on windows for each instance of the game you want to run but that would seem to lag your PC as well.

Thoughts? Ideas? Comments?

Everything depends on the method they'll use to limit multiple client. Without stuff like HackShield, it's as easy to run multiple OpenKore instances as usual, otherwise it's just a slightly complicated setup with Poseidon and (virtual) machines.

The limitation of how many Premium vs non-Premium accounts that can be opened, will need to be completely controlled via the client/server architecture, thus be transparent to the players.
No "protection", no additional software or a blatant lie.

Also,
this part of the update is the one that is most likely to be reviewed to be changed (possibly more non-prem logins) in some form or removed all together

They could use the same system as kRO uses.

What system does kRO use?

@EternalHarvest:
Basically your reply is telling me not to worry about that yet? XD
