Out of sync problems

#1 Post by Gokuu »

Hi!

First of all, let me say what a great piece of software you guys have here :)

I've been botting on iRO for about one week, without a problem. I've botted a merchant, and a swordsman, on a Windows XP machine.

Yesterday, I decided to create an Acolyte to have a support character, and coincidentally, I've started getting a lot of out of sync problems.

I've tried updating the client to the SVN version, to see if it would help, but to no avail. I've now gone back to the original version of the bot I was using, and I keep getting out of sync, now on all the chars.

Now, with the auto relogging, it wouldn't be much of a hassle, except for the fact that randomly, the bots completely stops. Either the only thing it does is sit down, or stand. I need to quit and restart Openkore to get it to work again.

I can't even say what action triggers the out of sync, since I've gotten it doing the most varied actions, attacking, trading, randomly walking, even manually walking across the map.

I also noticed that the iRO client got an update yesterday. Could it have impacted the bot?

Does anyone know how to solve this?

Thanks,
Gokuu

We need more info than just out of sync or stops responding.

For example, I have a bot that stops responding but its also a map with over 300 players on it, and the computer is barely strong enough to run even 1 RO client. The problem isn't Openkore but the computer it's running on and the high population of the server.

hmmm..

sorry for a double post, was in a hurry earlier.

The out of sync issue is fairly common with heavy traffic maps. Like the 300+ players i mentioned. Try running it in a lower population map, or set the cpu priority higher and monitor the results. Also at night its common to run things like torrent, try "throttling" them if your program has that feature so it's not hogging all the network.

I highly recommend staying with the SVN though, there are many fixes and improvements. A year ago I couldn't do half the things I can now, especially with Homunculus.

I'm not sure of the exact cause though as I don't experience out of sync issues with my weakest system (1.6ghz mini Laptop), but I also have a hacked router, very keen on software maintenance, and modify my hardware for improved performance on occasion. What can I say, I'm a freak.

There are probably thousands of ways to achieve the end result you seek. However since you are running Windows XP I highly recommend updating it to SP3 if you haven't, and grab a well made antivirus, and lastly Spybot Search&Destroy. It's not uncommon for windows XP having adware and malware interfere with the network chip enough to throw your entire system out of whack. Trust me, there were times when I thought windows XP had a virus/trojan but it was just aggressive adware and malware that completely annihilated my network connections.

It's something to think about.
