Actually, despite how badly made op is, I'd like this problem looked into, because I'm also experiencing the same problem, and so is another guy on another thread. See here:

Let me post some proper information though.
So far, a recurring error occurs on the char server:
Char slot is incorrectly reported, character name is missing, job is missing or incorrect, level is incorrect.
For myself, I'm on veteranRO, the client time stamp according to PE viewer is Oct 7, 2010.
Using the v3 extractor, I've made a new recvpackets.txt (Which is 1000+ lines long, they used to be pretty short back in the day) that I've placed into tables/kRO
Although I am able to connect to the login, char, and map server fine, I experience the char server errors as described above, and also that I have several statuses being incorrectly reported. (Including, falcon, lvl2 cart, poison, etc... on a fresh novice). In addition, monsters, npcs are all unknown #XXXXXX. And when I try to equip an item, it reports that I can't equip it, even though it did.
Granted, I've been out of the loop for a while, but I didn't think things changed this much.

Not sure if this is important to note also, while this server is using the renewal client, mostly everything is pre-renewal, old maps, no new classes, etc. Does that make a difference these days?
