Trouble connecting to local server.

#1 Post by GreenMagic469 »

Hey guys,

So I have a little offline private server that I own, just to mess around in and test builds. I've been trying to configure my bot to work on my own server, and I am having a real hell of a time.

First off, again, my server is offline so the ip 127.0.0.1, I'm not sure if that effects it in some way. Also, I have a really old eAthena server, probably about 2007 era, and it's txt, not sql, so most of the information like version number is available to me.

However, I'm encountering some issues.

I go into servers.txt, and I add this:

[NatureRO]
ip 127.0.0.1
port 6900
master_version 43
version 22
serverType 2
serverEncoding Western
charBlockSize
storageEncryptKey 0x050B6F79, 0x0202C179, 0x00E20120, 0x04FA43E3, 0x0179B6C8, 0x05973DF2, 0x07D8D6B, 0x08CB9ED9
recvpackets recvpackets.txt
addTableFolders kRO

Now, when I run OpenKore, it does connect to the server (I can see on my server command prompt that my account has connected), but when I attempt to choose a character I get two issues. Firstly, the characters are not displayed properly. Their names are cut off partially and their class isn't correct.

But, I tried choosing a character anyway, so I'd type 0 for my first-slot character, and then it simply waits for about 10 seconds, and then just returns a message that says "Timeout on character select server", and keeps repeating.

What am I doing wrong here? To be quite honest, this program is very new to me and everything I'd done so far has been fiddling and experimentation, and I just cannot seem to get it to work. Would this be the result of an improper master version number or something like that?

I'm going absolutely insane trying to figure this out, your help and comments are greatly, greatly appreciated. Thank you.

There is no website, it's a completely local server, as in, only I can access it. I'm sure I can get any info you need from the server files, although I'm unsure of where to find the master version number.

Seriously, if somebody can help me get this working, I will gladly transfer $30 over paypal to you. I just want to be able to test my bot on my own server and I don't have a single clue what's wrong.

Just want to say, terrible forum. Extremely unhelpful members. My first thread got deleted because I had a "bad topic name", and then when I actually create a 100% descriptive name, nobody even bothers to help. Not to mention, the majority of you speak broken English and can barely convey what you're trying to say.

No wonder this forum is dying. I even offered 30 dollars over PayPal for somebody's help and not a single reply... Wow. If you want to have a community, act like you're part of one.

I was able to configure it myself after hours of bullshit trial and error. If it was me, I would be more than glad to help somebody, but no, it seems the only help anyone gives around here is to people who can barely speak and give terrible information about their issues. Real nice guys.

Count yourselves one less forum member. Peace.
