Anyone run into problems with DB/BB'ed mobs sticking around your botting maps for days or weeks?
What's the best way to deal with this?

Re: Dealing with DB/BB Mobs
You got a bunch of options:
1) Get on your highest level and take it out yourself
2) If you can't kill it, use a Knight with Peco mount or Priest with Kyrie/AGI and lead the monsters to a far corner of the map and then FWing/Tele away.
3) Log on one of your characters manually and then go around town shouting that there is strong monsters outside, maybe a high level will help you.
4) Thoroughly edit your monsters.txt to avoid all the dangerous monsters the moment when they are on-screen (make sure to carry more FWings than usual).

Options 1 and 2 work best if your saveMap or the map outside of town is DB'ed. Options 4 and 5 work best if your lockMap is DB'ed.MatrixZero wrote:pick a different map.

Re: Dealing with DB/BB Mobs
I know this topic is slightly dated, however this is a problem I ran in to recently while botting dokebi horns. I came up a solution that works around all possible db/bbs. What I would do is check a database site (ex: ratemyserver) and list all the mobs that I would see when walking to my lockMap. Then in mon_control I'd write them all down with the appropriate attack and tele flags on them(ex: dokebi 1 0 0; nine tail 0 2 0). Then at the top of my mon_control file I put the line
I didn't know if this would work or not, so I tested it by removing poison spores from my mon_control then letting it run. Sure enough every time it saw a poison spore it would tele. Then I just readded poison spore and let it run. In fact I just looked over a second ago because I saw "Teleporting to avoid skeggiold".
Pefect solution for me. Since no matter what is DBd it will tele if it sees it. This way I don't have to rely on a DB/BB hitting me for too much damage before I tele or having to wait for lethal dmg to tele. As soon as it sees a mob it's not supposed to it runs.
Code: Select all
all 0 1 0

Re: Dealing with DB/BB Mobs
pick a different map or make sure you add the monster to your monster control to teleport when it's seen on the screen.
